CP-VIOLATION - EXPERIMENTAL STATUS AND PROSPECTS
H. Wahl (CERN)
Since the discovery of CP-violation in neutral kaon decays a number of experi-
ments have been performed to reveal its origin. The phenomenology of CP-viola-
tion in neutral meson decays is introduced. Precision measurments in the
neutral kaon system are discussed and compared to the effects expected in the
Standard Model. They can be used to determine the complex phase of the CKM-
matrix and for stringent tests of the CPT theorem. Ongoing activities are re-
viewed, and prospects to study CP-violating effects in K- and B-meson decays in
fixed-target experiments, with dedicated electron-positron colliders and in
hadronic heavy-quark production at high energies, are given.
