SUPERSYMMETRIC GAUGE THEORIES
L. Alvarez-Gaume (CERN)
In the past few years there has been an explosion of new non-perturbative
results in the study of gauge theories with supersymmetry. These lectures are
intended to give an elementary introduction to the tools and main results of
this new area of research in quantum field theory. We will review the results
in N=1 and N=2 in four dimensions, and then study their generalization to other
dimensions using the technology of D-branes and the connection with string
theory. The basic prerequisite for this course is a good working knowledge in
quantum field theory.
